Performance in the long term April 01st 2010 Representing more than 200 manufacturers and distributors across the UK, the Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers' Association is a trade association of suppliers to the cleaning industry. The main objective of the Association is to raise the long-term performance of member companies by assisting them in offering excellence of customer service to end users.
End User Confidence
As the trade association for suppliers of cleaning and hygiene materials and equipment, CHSA invites application for membership from both manufacturers and distributors operating in the UK ‘Away from Home’ market. Acceptance into the Association indicates that the applicant has met the highest standards of professional conduct – members are obliged to abide by its Code of Practice. These cover all aspects of the member's operation and their interface with the customer. CHSA actively supports members to maintain these standards. For example it conducts a biennial Customer Expectation Survey. This allows members to benchmark their performance against the service levels expected by their customers. Armed with this information they can then look to continual improvement of their customer service performance. Users of the products and services offered by CHSA members can therefore have total confidence that they are dealing with reputable, highly professional, quality companies whose main aim is to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Raising Industry Standards
One of the fundamental aims of the Association is to raise standards in the cleaning industry. This has seen the introduction of three Manufacturing Standard Accreditation Schemes covering soft tissue products, plastic refuse sacks and industrial cotton mops. In all three cases, confusion or unfair trading practices have denied the end user the ability to make an informed buying decision. The CHSA Standards, monitored by an independent inspector, ensure that accredited members provide the end user with fully and accurately labelled products.
Through application of the Scheme, CHSA has led the way enhancing the standing of both the market and those companies operating in it by ensuring that end users receive real value for money.
Commitment to Quality
Although the quality threshold for entry is already high, the Association endeavours to provide continual improvement for its members through offering a range of services to assist their businesses. All these ensure that the CHSA members are well equipped to provide an excellent quality service to their customers.
