April 01st 2010

METtraining’s Vocational and Environmental Science team have continued to pack a punch by scooping another prestigious industry award. The dynamic team who promote the science of cleaning to a number of industry employers received the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) award for Excellence in Training and Assessment.

The award which was presented at a ceremony at the Forest of Arden hotel in Coventry and hosted by boxing legend, John Conteh was hailed a phenomenal success. The team collected the award for Excellence in Training and Education for the second year in a row.

Delia Cannings, Director of Business Development commented:“It is always a delight for the team to be recognised by the industry in this way. We thoroughly enjoyed the event which consisted of an afternoon of awareness raising, followed by a splendid evening in a stunning venue with divine cuisine and excellent networking opportunities.

“Master of Ceremonies, John Conteh was an inspired choice who proved why his sporting achievements made him such an excellent role model. He also indicated that he would like to support the college’s endeavours to engage young people in education and training, giving examples from his own youth and growing up on the wild side as he put it.

“Exciting times are ahead of us. Opportunities within the vocational and environmental science sector continue to grow and new horizons are opening up and we look forward to delivering an even wider range of qualifications,as we embrace the emerging trends, environmental factors and eco technology markets.”
