The leading international trade association for the cleaning industry the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) aims to improve the overall effectiveness of the cleaning and maintenance channel by facilitating communication and commerce amongst its members. In partnership with Amsterdam RAI, the ISSA also produces ISSA/INTERCLEAN, the largest worldwide tradeshow for the cleaning and maintenance industry, in locations including Amsterdam, the United States, Mexico, Poland and for the first time this year ISSA/INTERCLEAN China 2006 taking place in Shanghai between 20th – 22nd September. Closer to home this year’s ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam, which will take place from the 9th – 12th May will provide European members with one the best networking opportunities of the year.
UK based ISSA members have access to the best mix of educational and training resources, industry contacts and business advice helping them to operate effectively in both local and global markets. The excellent support the ISSA receives from its alliance partners the Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers’ Association (CHSA) and more recently the Cleaning & Support Services Association (CSSA) is a major contributing factor behind this. All parties are working very hard to together to raise overall standards in the UK cleaning industry.
Founded in the 1960’s the Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers’Association (CHSA) represents manufacturers and distributors supplying the cleaning industry. It is responsible for raising both cleaning industry standards and offering members a platform for exchanging ideas.
The association aims to raise the long-term performance of its 200 or more member companies by assisting them in offering excellence in customer service to end users.
The CHSA’s Manufacturing Standard Accreditation Schemes for soft tissue products, cotton mops and plastic refuse sacks is an excellent example of its work.
Aiming to stop confusion among end users about what they are actually buying while providing them with better value for money, the CHSA Schemes require all accredited members to properly label their products.
The CHSA’s Accreditation Scheme is currently the only one of its type policing the manufacturing industry and protecting the interests of end users and responsible manufacturers.
Originally established by leading companies in the United Kingdom to monitor standards and ensure proper representation for the cleaning industry and its members, the Cleaning & Support Services Association (CSSA) is the UK’s leading building service contractor association. Through its promotion of best practices and the development of employees the CSSA aims to drive professionalism and excellence in the UK cleaning industry.
The many benefits of ISSA/CHSA/CSSA membership include access to an extensive distributor, manufacturer and building service contractor database; ISSA’s deep expertise on a broad range of market issues; ISSA training programmes and materials and information and lobbying services across Europe. Further benefits include regular CHSA and CSSA bulletins, details of CHSA regional meetings and CSSA committees and advice on new and existing legislation. More articles from ISSA Europe: |
